Summer Outing, 1971

Leicester University,

Difficulties Overcome

Considerable difficulty was experienced in organising an outing in June, and eventually a minibus was hired and ringing enjoyed at Woburn, Fenny, Stratford, and Stewkley before lunch. London was then visited and various activities enjoyed including a church "crawl" - St. Bartholomew-the-Great and St. Andrew-by-the-Wardrobe. A Chinese restaurant in Northampton supplied the evening meal on the return journey and Leicester was reached at 10pm.

Any ringers coming up to Leicester should know that ringing in the University is not completely unheard of. During the last session one tower bell quarter was rung by the society, and a handbell peal, and two quarters; an outing was arranged.

Anyone coming next session should get in touch with ... ... to find out about our activities.
